Research is critical to the development of Human Rights in Education as an effective initiative in schools and centres, and on a national basis.

The Initiative has drawn on the findings of research into the impact of children’s rights education in Cape Breton (Nova Scotia, Canada) and Hampshire (England), and the Facilitation Team tracks developments in human rights-based education generally.

Schools and centres participating in HRiE are encouraged to develop appropriate indicators and targets for implementation of strategy (see, for example, the generic school strategy map) and to undertake successful action research.

We welcome discussions about possible collaboration with researchers, universities and other agencies.
